Here, you can find out more about the proposals, download the latest plans, have your say via our online comments form and keep up to date with how the plans are progressing on our news page.

The 12-hectare site is bordered by Welsh Road West to the north and the River Stowe to the south and is within walking distance of the town centre. Both Southam College and Southam Leisure Centre are less than five minutes walk.

Over half of the site would be opened up for landscaped public open space with a new Riverside Park on the southern section, enhancing the setting of the nearby River Stowe and the adjacent Holy Well. The park would be owned and managed by and for the local community to help protect it from any future development.

As one of the largest rural centres in Stratford District, Southam has been identified as a suitable and sustainable location for new housing and growth. The site is ideally located close to the town centre and local facilities and the proposals would help support and sustain them.

They would also support a number of priorities set out for Southam in Stratford District Council’s Core Strategy aimed at enhancing and opening up the River Stowe Valley for wider benefit and community use, improving pedestrian and cycle links to the town centre and improving countryside walks, accessible from the town centre along the Stowe.
